Case Studies

Aerial Delivery Training Transformation Analysis and Delivery

XKG provided an experienced and passionate team to successfully complete the analysis and concept design for a modernised, modular training continuum of the Aerial Delivery capability. With a depth of understanding for Defence’s learning and instruction systems and project management expertise, XKG produced a dynamic course design decision support tool to assist ALTC with development of budget and schedule to support the future transformation of training.

ERP Sim for Defence and RAAF School of Administration and Logistics Training

As part of our ERP Education Hub, XKG delivered an innovative SAP Simulation solution to Joint Logistics Command. Leveraging gamification and social learning, these sessions provide participants with a fun, hands-on introduction to SAP that raises awareness & understanding of the integrated nature of Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

Deployed Systems Performance Needs Analysis and Learning Package Development

XKG is delivering solutions aligned to the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL) for the Mission Protected Environment (MPE), SEA 2273, and JACKSTAY. This involves reviewing training materials to conduct a Performance Needs Analysis and develop a Learning Management Package LMP for the Defence Command Support Training Centre (DCSTC).

Office 365 Online Training for Victoria University

XKG was responsible for the creation of online self-paced learning materials for Victoria University in their systems upgrade to Microsoft Office 365. This included the development of simulations and instructor-led video course content and was provided to over 27,000 students and faculty members.

Army Logistics Training Centre - Joint Medical Technician Continuum Implementation

XKG is supporting the Army School of Health to plan for, prepare documentation in support of, and facilitate course management and administration for the first iteration of the new Joint medical Technician continuum. This includes working side by side with Medical Training Wing staff and the Wodonga Institute of TAFE to ensure that the course being developed is sequenced, resourced, and that instructors are enabled to deliver the training. This will support ALTC to leverage their civilian trained workforce to enable a shortened training continuum and provide streamlined course delivery to the newly formed ECN 368.

Combined Arms Training Centre Digital Learning Transformation

The Australian Army has been expanding their enterprise-wide Training Transformation program which aims to prepare personnel for future capability requirements aligned to technical innovations and an evolving geopolitical context. XKG supported the Training Reform project at the Combined Arms Training Centre (CATC) site. Training establishments under CATC required learning design, development and delivery support and services to transition towards a more systematic and strategic approach for combining times and modes of learning. XKG integrated the best aspects of face-to-face and online interactions for each discipline using appropriate technology and delivered a strong set of blended learning outcomes.

Electrical Substation Entry VR Training Experience

XKG staff created a training solution that allowed high risk operations to be conducted where control centre staff to interact with real time voice in an immersive solution for field technicians to enter a substation, carry out isolations and conduct maintenance. The solution allowed instructors to configure questions and objectives in the experience, and to playback and examine exactly what the students did, what they looked at, and the results of any questions posed to them in the experience through a comprehensive experience analytics platform.

Digital Reality Pilot Procedural Training

XKG Developed a procedural training solution for Learn2fly. The purpose of the solution is to instruct trainee pilots on the procedural aspects of aircraft operations.  In the training experience, trainees are required to carry out: External inspections including engine oil, fuel sampling and control surface checks. Internal checks including startup, system alignment, run-up checks, taxi checks, and landing checks. The solution reduces the instructor time required to bring trainee pilots up to the required standard, and reduces cost by removing approximately 1 hour of instructed flight time.
